The chateau is superbly placed overlooking the river Lot and valley: the accommodation is spacious and stylish; and it is well equipped to cater for the twelve adults who stayed there. We much enjoyed dining al fresco on the elevated terrace.

Bergerac is the closest airport to the house. It’s a picturesque drive of 1hr 15min to the house on B–roads through several ancient towns.
Toulouse is a larger and more sophisticated airport with flights to many other cities in Europe including Paris. It is located 1hr 30mins from the house and is a fast and easy motorway drive to Cahors.
Rodez is located to the East of Cahors towards the Massif Central. It’s a 2hr 15min drive to Calvayrac along a ‘long and winding road’ but the incentive to fly there is cheap fares with Ryanair.
Carcassonne, is located one hour south east of Toulouse. Again there are often cheaper flight options but the drive is going to take approximately 2hrs 30mins.
Car hire from all the main companies is available at all these airports and even drop-offs and collection at alternate airports is not cost prohibitive. It is worth while checking car hire deals on offer with the airlines.
